Makomkom Safaris
Makomkom Safaris, is a Botswana company rooted in the heart of the Okavango Delta region. Born and raised in this pristine wetland environment, we have an intimate connection with the land.
Our founder having grown up amidst the rich tapestry of wildlife in the Delta, has honed his skills as a master tracker, allowing him to decipher the whispers of the wild, locate animals and to expertly identify the bird species of the region. In addition, years of experience have made him a gifted wildlife photographer, adept at positioning the safari vehicle for the perfect shot
As stewards of this remarkable ecosystem, we are committed to preserving its natural beauty and biodiversity for future generations. Our mission at Makomkom is to share nature and the most authentic okavango experience, to safeguard our wildlife and to empower our local communities. We endeavor to educate and train our people on sustainable coexistence with wildlife.

A Unique Adventure Experience
We specialize in crafting personalized mobile safari experiences, primarily centered around captivating journeys through the Okavango Delta. Our itineraries often encompass the Okavango Delta itself, with options to explore renowned destinations such as Moremi, Khwai, and Savuti over a 7 day, 10-day or 14 day adventure. However, our approach is highly flexible, as we prioritize understanding our guests’ preferences and expectations to tailor each experience accordingly.
Our luxury camping accommodations, showcased through spacious tents, complement the immersive nature of our safaris. Additionally, we offer smaller tent packages for those seeking a more intimate and personalized safari experience.
Activities
Experience the thrill of exploration with Makomkom's Safari, with our offering of game drives twice-daily in our comfortable safari vehicles, venturing out at sunrise (5:30 AM to 11:00 AM) and again in the late afternoon (3:30 PM to 6:00 PM) to maximize your chances of witnessing Africa's incredible wildlife. Beyond classic game drives, we offer unique experiences like mokoro rides and delta cruises, allowing you to explore the waterways and discover a different perspective of this breathtaking ecosystem
